The Christian Family

The Christian Family
By Pastor Mike Bunye
There are families failing today simply because they lack knowledge. And so we have to see the perfect will of God concerning the family. God is a family Man and He wants you to prosper in your family life.
Family is the foundation of the society. Whatever happens to the family will happen to the nation. The Christian family is the fundamental organization on which each local church and ultimately the universal church is built. The success of our local church is dependent on the Christian family. As Christians, we are responsible to hold up the banner of God’s Word and live godly lives in an ungodly world. One of the greatest Christian witnesses to the world today is a happy, productive marriage. Believers’ marriage should be living proof to pre-believers that Jesus Christ heals and restores families, brings husbands and wives together, and enables them to turn away from sin and live godly lives. It is then our duty to put a standard in our lives based on the Word of God. And that includes marriage and having a family. In Genesis 2:18-24, We can see the first marriage in the Garden of Eden, a marriage ordained by God. Without marriage as a divine ordinance, you will not have a family based on God’s standards. You may have a living arrangement but not a godly relationship. It is the perfect will of God for man and woman to be married. And marriage is only as good as the degree to which the couple is willing to work at it. So try to work at your marriage, try to develop it, the two of you developing in the relationship where both of you accept correction and understand one another. There is no limit to the joy, pleasure and blessings God can bring to you through a marriage where you and your spouse are truly one flesh.

Renewing the Mind in Marriage

Renewing the Mind in Marriage
By Pastors Mike and Me-Ann Bunye

Marriage is the most intimate of all human relationships. After our relationship with
God, marriage is the next most important. Before there is a relationship with children, marriage was established. Before there were governments or nations, schools and even churches, there was marriage. Marriage is God’s good idea not man’s. God instituted marriage. Therefore, it is a covenant of God with us, it belongs to Him, and we made it with Him. In Genesis 2:24, the Word says that man and woman shall become one flesh. One flesh here does not simply mean gluing together but it means fusion. Two distinct elements into one.
Fusion makes them one and inseparable. To become one flesh is the goal. To move as a unit, as one. A husband and wife are more powerful as a team because of the extension of the body, not just one, but two in one. Marriage is the Greek word “gameo” which derives from the same root as our English word gem. The root word literally means “fuse together.” Fusion of different elements into one describes the process by which precious gems are formed deep in the earth. The process is also an appropriate description of marriage. Precious gems are formed underground out of ordinary elements that are subjected to great heat and pressure over an extended period of time. So ordinary people who get into marriage are transformed by heat and pressure over an extended period of time. Fusion happens and a gem is produced. This is one reason God established marriage as a permanent lifelong relationship. There must be sufficient time for two people with separate and distinct backgrounds and personalities to become fused together as one flesh. That is why God said, “and they shall be one flesh.”
Not overnight, not for 10 years, but a lifetime commitment. Pressure is experienced in
marriage but godly marriages become stronger under pressure. The decision to stick
together and to move together makes the marriage strong, and as a result the couple
also becomes strong. They say those who stay married with the same spouse live longer than
the rest. They withstand the test of time. As a husband and wife face the pressure together
with the Lord, they become stronger and union grows. Marriage fuses them into one,
nothing can break them apart. Marriage is a process in which fusion of two
distinct and different elements becomes one sparkling jewel of love. And as a diamond
in the rough is being cut by a specially designed tool, they become more beautiful.
In marriage, this tool is the Word of God. As husband and wife renew themselves in the
Word together, they become more brilliant and dazzling to look at.
Building a strong marriage does not just happen. You need to work on it by renewing
your minds through the Word. A successful marriage depends on the knowledge of the Word of God.

In Genesis 2:24, the Word says that man and woman shall become
one flesh. One flesh here does not simply mean gluing together
but it means fusion. Two distinct elements into one. Fusion makes
them one and inseparable.

The Grace Message

The Grace Message
by Pastor Mike Bunye

We are in the generation when we experience the dispensation of grace. This grace that is available  to all.
Read these verses:Ephesians 3:1-7 For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for you Gentiles;  if indeed you have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which was given to me for you, how that by revelation He made known to me the mystery (as I have briefly written already, by which, when you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ), which in other ages was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to His holy apostles and prophets: that the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, of the same body, and partakers of His promise in Christ through the gospel, of which I became a minister according to the gift of the grace of God given to me by the effective working of His power.

Today the Lord has given some believers, pastors, and teachers in particular a special understanding of the grace of God.  God is making known His grace in a very special way in this present dispensation to the Church Age. He is making known that He has always been a GRACIOUS GOD. That He, God,  never changes. God was gracious to Adam and Eve when He provided them with coats of skins (Genesis 3:21).God was gracious to Noah (Genesis 6:8) and God was gracious to the whole earth when He promised never again to bring a world-wide flood (Genesis 9:11). God was gracious to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph, Moses and the Israelites, to David and to Saul who became Paul.

The list goes on and on. But God's grace is most clearly seen today. God's grace not only abounds but it SUPER-ABOUNDS!

Today the grace of our Lord is as 1 Timothy 1:14 "And the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant, with faith and love which are in Christ Jesus." During the past 2000 years (approximately) God has been showing off His grace. God loves to demonstrate and manifest WHO HE IS! History is the story of God making Himself known at various times and in various ways.

As grace is available to us let us not receive the grace of God in vain. Here in Faith Center Imus we do not teach "Cheap Grace." Rather we teach that the grace of our Lord is precious, because grace is Jesus Himself. So we do not teach that anyone should abuse this grace that has been freely given us. But rather to hold it as the most precious gift anyone can receive.

When anyone receives something precious and has no ability to repay the giver, the only thing left to do is to give a heartfelt thanksgiving and to express this thanksgiving at all means possible.

And to be able to demonstrate how the gift has affected him, man finds service to God a joy to do. This gift of grace now becomes a moving force within a man that enables him to do much more than he is capable of doing. We can now labor more abundantly.

Remember that we are saved by grace through faith so in the coming weeks watch out for the coming messages about faith and about our response to this gift of grace. It is my desire that the members of Faith Center Imus be nourished by the full counsel of the Word. That is why we make sure that the messages we deliver are specially customized for Faith Center Imus as directed by God. We hear what the Lord would like to deliver into your hearts as a church and we comply. So he who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit of the Lord says to our church.
